to be aware of so you can actually apply this stuff to your own product research when you are looking for your own products to sell on Amazon earth is that they have very very low reviews and not just for a single product right for the overall category or niche right and when it comes down to that we are going to show you exactly how to find the average number of reviews for the entire India versus just one product number two is that they have a very strong keywords and we’re going to show you exactly what we mean by that and how to evaluate that for yourself when you are doing product research and number three that they fall in the sweet spot of revenue right a lot of people have a huge misconception here that you’re looking for you know the craziest products that are doing a hundred thousand dollars a month a million dollars a month we are going to break that paradigm and I’m going to show you exactly what all of my students do to become wildly successful on Amazon and not have to deal with all the headaches of hijackers and Chinese sellers and people trying to rip you down because at the end of the day guys what I want and what I assume most of you guys want to is consistent profit without having to deal with a huge amount of headache like your listing being taken down from you know a false intellectual property claim or people trying to sue you or you know constant hijackers from Chinese corporate sellers I’m constantly hopping on your listing I don’t want to deal with all that personally and so how I teach and how thousands of my students have found a massive success is for going after the sweet spot and one last thing before we hop into the top 50 list I want to talk about landscape right so we briefly touched on it in the introduction but landscape is something that’s very very important to actually understand when you’re doing product research it’s incredibly important not to just look at one single product right you want to look at average ‘iz you want to look at the ecosystem you want to look at the landscape of the product niche these are all synonyms for saying the exact same thing and the reason for that is for example you may be doing research on viral launch of jungle scout or whatever you use and you might find an incredible-looking teapot right that has the perfect number of reviews with super high revenue and everything looks great right but the problem with that is you might actually look up the keyword a teapot on is on keywords and you might actually see that there’s a lot of competition when it actually comes through that keyword and then you type in the top searched for keyword into Amazon and you see that everyone on page one has a thousand reviews except for that one product that you found right so if you try to enter the teapot niche you might see that 99% of the products have a thousand reviews but there was that one outlier product which happens to be the one you found and I’ve seen people make this massive mistake again and again and again where they think that they’re entering a great niche because they find a single product but they don’t evaluate the entire ecosystem or the entire land escape of the product niche and then they’re left high and dry and because of that how I’ve actually organized this top 50 hottest products is actually showing you guys keywords right actual ecosystem landscapes that you can look at they are entirely profitable themselves right I’m not showing you individual products I’m showing you overall keywords or landscapes or ecosystems or niches whatever you want to call it I’m showing you the entire niche and I’m showing you that this niche is profitable right this is how you should start doing product research because it’s going to save you a lot of pain down the line when it actually comes to you know you finding a single product that looks really good but all the other products on page won’t have a thousand plus reviews and you have no possible chance of ever being able to catch up and actually compete with that all right guys so let’s get into a few samples from the top 50 hottest product niche cheat sheet we’re going to be going over exactly why I think these are up-and-coming trending products and we’re gonna be talking exactly how I found these using just two tools right the first tool is viral launch product take a look at actually is the keyword you see right here keyword found using is on keywords average revenue around $8,000 a month right the sweet spot of revenue that I teach and that a lot of my students have had a massive amount of success with is between seven and fifteen thousand dollars right and the reason for that is because if you’re actually looking at a product and it’s making between seven and fifteen thousand dollars in revenue per month right you can assume like a fifty percent profit margin on that that means that you’re making about thirty five hundred dollars to seventy five hundred dollars in profit every single month thirty five hundred dollars is over a hundred dollars a day profit right so that’s kind of the minimum that I personally go after that makes it worth it for my time and worth it for me to actually you know go about selling this product right the the best case scenario is seven to eight thousand dollars profit per month and that may not sound like you know like it’s going to completely change your life instantly you know eight thousand profit a month is a lot pretty much for anyone right but the beautiful thing about this guy’s is it starts to stack up it starts to add up once you actually have one or two products or three or five or even ten you know even if you’re only making thirty five hundred dollars profit a month which for me was a ton when I first started right so like I’m not trying to discount that at all thirty five hundred dollars profit a month once you add five products right that’s already seventeen thousand dollars profit a month once you add ten products that’s thirty-five thousand dollars profit per month and the best part about looking for products in this sweet spot the range right between 7 and 15 inch thousand and revenue means that people at like huge corporations and the Chinese sellers and the under like kind of this the bad people on Amazon that really want to take you down and hijack your listing and just do things that you don’t want to deal with they’re looking for listings that are selling 50 thousand a hundred thousand a million dollars in revenue a month they don’t even pay attention to the seven to fifteen thousand so I’m kind of you know an advocate in this particular case of tortoise versus the hare right you you don’t care if you’re the tortoise in this case you don’t want to be the hare in this case you want to be the tortoise you want to be slow and steady and that doesn’t mean that you’re going to do things slowly it just means that you’re going to have so much less pain and competition and people trying to drag you down if you go in this sweet spot of revenue range so the FIR product is CBD gummies and if you guys don’t know what CBD is right take a look let’s take a quick look on zhong keywords the reason for the seasonality indicator is because google has this weird thing about showing CBD because CBD is like a derivative of THC which is you know Mary J for the people out there who don’t know so what we see here up in the word cloud is a lot of different stuff right CBD vape oil sell for anxiety pure CBD oil right there’s CBD drops for for animals there’s all types of different things that we see here I looked for CBD gummies for pain so I just randomly found this doing research on zonkey or it’s for products and if we actually type this in here if we type CBD gummies and then we run the viral launch market intelligence Chrome extension what we’re going to see is a lot of monthly revenue here and we see some they’re up at 60,000 but they have 471 reviews right we’re looking at the guys that have almost no reviews we see that one review for review seven we see two thousand four thousand 15 three 7:32 17 12 right six a lot of ranges here we see you know sixty four hundred and fifty six all of these kind of averaged out so you know the sweet spot that we’re looking for between that seven and fifteen and it’s not a steadfast rule guys whenever anybody who teaches Amazon or any type of online business tells you between 7 and 15 I immediately look for 6,000 I immediately look for 16,000 I like to you know look in the sweet spot range but change it a little bit use your creativity use your own you know mental experiences and what makes you unique and what you know about right I always give the example I’m never going to start a successful makeup brand because I don’t personally use makeup right but I do know a lot about sports and I knew I do know a lot about camping and I know a lot about you know a lot of things but I’m not going to try to overextend myself use what you know use what you’re good at use what you’re experiencing right so that is the first product that we look at what I like to look at is very consistent right such low reviews here a lot of variations like you could do hemp gummies bird dogs or you could do hemp gummies with you know strolling papers or a lot of different combinations right and one of the keys with CBD since it’s kind of like a brand new a product being sold on Amazon because it has you know implications with THC and things like that you want to do your proper research what is allowed to be sold on Amazon what particular certificates do you need right some of these products you actually have to source inside of the USA and have you know documentation that shows that there is a zero percent THC volume for these things right so whenever you’re going into a new product niche CBD is no different you want to make sure that you have all the proper documentation and you’re allowed to actually sell in this particular niche and you’re not going to get shut down or have any problems with actually getting your listing live but CBDs and all types of hemp products are becoming absolutely massive on Amazon and they’re just doing very monopoly numbers and if you get in at the beginning right when this stuff is all happening when there’s 26 reviews 20 reviews right 35 reviews very low reviews 32 31 you can have a massive massive upside and the last thing that I like to do when I’m doing product research in this way is actually make sure that there’s a lot of other complementary words right because eventually you’re going to be doing Amazon PPC eventually you’re going to be trying to optimize your listing so that your ranking organically and if you sell a product right I saw this happen six months to a year ago with the angle eyes ruler right that product took off it exploded it was making a ton of money and a lot of sellers got into that niche but then they realized there’s only one way to actually say an angle eyes ruler right you don’t people don’t call angle as rulers anything besides angle eyes rulers but somebody might be searching you know CBD oil and then see the gummy version and then they might actually buy it or they might be saying Stevie deeper sleep or CBD for anxiety or CBD for pain relief and they might happen upon the gummies and actually want to purchase that particular product because it actually you know it solves whatever they wanted from the product and it’s actually a better version than what the person was originally looking for so what I like to see is a lot of different keywords and we see a ton of different keywords here on zon keywords related to this particular listing lots of good stuff from the word cloud so that is the first one that I wanted to talk about the next one that I want to talk about actually is up at the top here which is palm leaf square plates right so palm leaf square plates twelve thousand six one on the average monthly revenue we see right here so if we look at this word Palm Leaf square play inside of Amazon so we’re going to do Palm Leaf square plate we’ll do it all in caps to really force it in alright so we run the product research or we run the market intelligence app here we see a lot of different monthly revenues here and the good part is we see very very low review quantities we see some with 3000 we see some with 46,000 right two reviews selling forty-six thousand dollars a month we see four reviews here twelve reviews lots of just ridiculous value or ridiculous of a monthly revenue but this is an important one to remember that it is slightly seasonal right the best selling period is in August which just recently happened right and this is just a great product to think about getting into because of the fact that it is disposable plates right but it is also compostable natural-like look at this product right here after the number one ranking product here forty four five-star reviews by one plant a tree right really adheres to the actual target audience we also see that they really utilize so perfectly a lot of the buzz words that are very popular right now right being environmentally friendly sustainable eco-friendly right all of these words that really are buzzwords for people who want to take better care of the environment which is obviously a good thing that everybody should be doing it so we see some absolutely crazy revenue numbers a little bit outside of our you know normal rule which is the 7 7 to 15k a month but it’s ok because you know this is a product that has such low reviews that it might be worth getting into even with only one order even if you sell out that whole order then you can decide whether or not you think it is you know necessary or going to be profitable to reorder all right the next word that we are going to get into is actually one that’s a little bit close to home for me your boy is a sweaty beast when I go to the gym and I workout and I always wear my air paws and so what that does is it creates a lot of you know stuff in my ears and so I was actually looking for this word myself which is a great example of how to do product researches in your everyday right what do you search on Amazon that’s strange what do you search on Amazon that’s not glamorous that’s not sexy some of my best products that I’ve ever sold on Amazon are the products that are very very not sexy right because people still need to buy them but not a lot of people want to sell them and that is how you get profitable on Amazon right – the next word that we’re going to look at is one that I actually looked for myself I didn’t end up behind if you guys can calm down in advance but the key word is earwax removal bottle so if we actually come in here and go in twos on keywords we see that there’s a lot of you know volume here lots of different things to look at right earwax removal tool kit earwax removal syringe spiral earwax removal earwax removal candle right lots of different keywords here so if we do earwax earwax removal tool right we see the number one product that we actually looked at here and if we run the viral launch market intelligence Chrome extension what we see is a lot of different monthly revenues here 19,000 twelve thousand six six 10,000 22,000 right and it kind of tapers off a little bit here but what we see is the review quantities are relatively low here we see 11,000 with only 28 reviews 9000 with 13 reviews 22,000 with only 49 reviews right so there’s a lot of potential space to get into this niche right and this is a niche that you can actually add value to in certain ways maybe read the reviews there’s a lot of different you know there’s a lot of reviews here we see that this is only as a four average star so maybe you know you could go and read these the 12% that is a one-star review and make it better in some way to actually you know improve the product and do what I always say right you can’t just go and slap a five-dollar logo on a product anymore it’s expect to be successful on Amazon FBA you have to add value you have to add value to the marketplace you have to actually improve the product in some way and the best way to do that is to find profitable niches and then go and read the reviews see what people are not liking find a pattern and then when you communicate with your supplier tell them hey we need to improve X Y & Z and then your products will actually you know have a more of them how we’ll have more longevity when it comes to actually sustaining that profit in that niche alright guys in the next one that we’re actually going to look at is one called a wireless smart outlet soxhlet socket right so that’s actually kind of hard site so if we say a wireless smart outlet type it into Amazon what you guys will see is there’s a lot of evolving technology right like the people who first sold the USBC when amaz our excuse me when Apple actually changed their adapter we’re making a frickin fortune it was crazy right we see like a lot of people making a lot here with 700 reviews but then you see 15,000 with only 16 reviews 8000 with 26 reviews 13,000 with 25 reviews lots of space to get in here and if you literally just type in smart outlet what that works with the LexA plug timer home kit there’s so many different complementary and supplementary you know products that actually go along with these other products that you can actually profit on if you’re smart and if you think ahead you know what technology is going to be needed when Amazon creates a new thing like Alexa what technology is going to be needed when Apple changes all the charging ports for their computers right so if you start to like actually think about product research outside of actually doing product research that’s when these like golden you know diamond-in-the-rough products are going to come to you and you can be able to act quickly and then really capture the massive amount of you know initial buzz around these items alright guys and the last one we are going to go through is the first one that we talked about actually or the first one in the list excuse me which is hemp oil right hemp oil for pain relief is going to be the one that we’re going to take a look at so we’re going to put in hemp oil but like if we just press space we see for pain relief for dogs for anxiety capsules vapor pens for cats pills right like you literally type in for and then a anxiety autism anxiety ously be back pain bird’s body blood pressure see cats calming cooking cancer constipation Dee right people are literally typing in millions and millions of words and hemp oil has a lot of you know medical benefits according to a lot of people and so if you’re an Amazon seller figuring out how to actually utilize hemp oil for pain relief we see right here right and then you don’t have to go after the biggest words like hemp oil for pain relief we see a lot of people with 25 reviews here but if we run on the the Chrome extension we see people with you know a lot of reviews here if we sort by the lowest we see even the small guys have crazy revenue and this is a little bit too much revenue that I like to look at that’s why I wanted to show this product last right ninety one thousand one hundred and sixty-four thousand that’s going to attract too much attention but that’s because the overall keyword is hemp oil for pain relief that’s a massive keyword but if we type in hemp oil for pain relief space right then we could say capsules this is where you know I originally found gummies ons on keywords we see four dogs right so maybe hemp oil for pain relief our excuse me for dogs has a lesser dosage or has like other things or other considerations right and there’s so many different things that you could figure out for hemp oil just by saying hemp oil for and then just typing in face for F right e eczema are rosacea pee right like there’s pain relief pecs L like literally you can type in anything lashes large bead dogs lubrication right and oil for lubrication so there’s so many things that you guys can do and I just wanted to show you guys you know how I do product research I find initial ideas and then I go deeper down the rabbit hole so like I would look at this product here right and I would look at what is it commonly bought together with hemp oil turmeric right looks like all-natural cannabis hemp oil a lot of different stuff hemp relief look at all these products that Amazon is literally showing you are related compared with similar items and so really guys the moral of this story is I want to give you a gift right the top 50 best product niches going into now into 2019 and just as like a you know I feel like I don’t need to say this but don’t directly copy these and if you’re going to write do it fast and have a lot of money to do it because thousands of people are going to see this and you know if you’re smart you’re going to download this and get a lot of ideas from it right because the point of it is to show you successful products on Amazon it’s not for you to just directly copy these you want to figure out you know how did I find these why are they successful and then look at you know complementary products or use your own creativity and your own had listened to the Guru’s and said you
know what screw it I’m not going to get
into this niche because it’s too
complicated and oversaturated I would
have made ten thousand dollars in three
days yes I do still believe that your
ability to market a product is
infinitely more important than selecting
a popular niche because at the end of
the day if you’re a gun digital marketer
or if you
great marketer in general then you’re
able to sell most things in life the
audio mm this baby got the 16-bit do
d/a-converter however there is no doubts
that if you’re able to predict product
trends then you’re able to jump on that
bandwagon early enough to be able to get
your dropshipping store to completely
explode for me personally I haven’t
jumped on product trends before I’ve
simply you know marketed products that I
enjoy marketing myself and I’ve found
great success in that so that is proof
in itself that you don’t need to stick
to a popular niche but it does help
particularly if you’re completely new to
this game so if you’re looking to take
advantage of these niches that I’ll be
talking to then you need to create your
store today because you want to prepare
for 2019 so you need to ensure that you
prepare your store today and take
advantage as well of the upcoming
holidays such as Halloween or Christmas
obviously even new year sales
okay so let’s jump to my laptop as per
usual and let’s go over the niches that
I will think will grow in 2019 inks
potentially explode and I’ll back that
up with some data so now that we’re on
my laptop I want to dive into Google
Trends if you haven’t already been using
this toy or if you haven’t already heard
it then you definitely need to get onto
this ASAP now the first thing I want to
discuss is trends that have gone
that you shouldn’t be getting into and
using Google Trends as an example of how
to use this tool so it’s pretty
straightforward really I know that
wristwatches is overly saturated on drop
shipping or drop shipping stores and the
overall trend for wristwatches is
actually going downhill globally so
let’s go ahead and search globally here
so actually let’s just go for the let’s
go for the search directly and then
we’ll set up the parameters and let’s
type in wristwatches here now if we set
what we want to do is set it for
obviously global because we want to see
a global trend
unless you’re particularly targeting
a specific country now I always go for a
lifetime because I want to see the
overall trend and the overarching
picture and not just you know within the
year because that could tell a
completely different story
but as you can tell and overall it’s
it’s just it’s just going downhill since
really December 2004 it sort of peaked
again and this is all based on search
volume so the amount of people searching
for wristwatches and as you can tell
today it is about 33 points in value
with Google Trends which is quite low so
that’s a low sort of search volume and
so look wristwatches not so great let’s
back that up with some more data let’s
type in a popular wristwatch brand which
is Daniel Wellington now Daniel
Wellington is if you don’t already know
a very popular sort of semi viral
wristwatch brand and it’s just again it
looks like it’s going downhill from here
it’s sort of peaked at certain points
but overall trend is its stagnating and
yeah potentially going downhill really
so you know moving on from that these
are the niches that I want to talk about
and I think will do quite well so the
first niche that I’ll give you for 2019
is organic products now organic products
is already a growing trend at the moment
and when I say organic products you’re
probably thinking as he told organic
products this organic food and you know
this even organic furniture I believe
that’s made out of like literal wood and
stuff like that but I’m talking about
knickknacks here so for example bamboo
bamboo toothbrushes I know they are
popular at least in Australia but again
look as you could tell here from a
worldwide trend it really only started
to pick up in 2016 early 2017 and it’s
just grown exponentially
now this little downward dip here is a
prediction okay
it’s based on as you can see here
incomplete data so right now as of let’s
get back to that point here as of August
2018 so last month really it is peaking
and there is a lot of demand from what
I’ve seen based on tools like these and
other tools that I use that are paid
which I won’t mention in this video but
and it is a very popular niche to get
into at the moment because it will only
be set for more growth in 2019 now
another product within this niche is
essential oils so what I’ve got in mind
here is as before I get into it but as
you can tell it has just jumped
exponentially from 2012 really and it’s
just gone on the rise so essential oils
very popular and if you look down here
it’s also interesting to divide it by
interest by region because this should
sort of correlate with your Facebook
targeting and with if you don’t Google
ads within Google ads targeting and you
can geolocate by region and you can
based it off related topics particularly
if you’re going for Google ads and
keywords a bit on this is a perfect tool
and so why I say organic products is a
great niche to get into and there’s a
lot of mini products or mini winning
products that are just working in this
particular niche and and I see it set
for growth in 2019 so it’s in its early
days but a lot of these products are
signed to win so just think I thought
outside the box here when if you’re
thinking about getting to this nation
let’s go into Aliexpress because I do
want to walk the talk really and show
you what sort of costs are so associated
with these niches I I am recommending
now organic products let’s go back to
the bamboo toothbrush I’m sure they have
it as you can see there’s quite a few
results 5,000 results so it’s relatively
I mean 5,000 results in Aliexpress
that’s not a lot of
products but that is a good sign really
because that means it’s not a tapped
into niche or product so as you can tell
here very cheap I mean a set of ten
bamboo toothbrushes eco-friendly seven
US dollars completely free shipping so
look really straightforward if you want
to go with one piece each it’s literally
like 1 USD or less so a lot of a lot of
potential profit margin here and so
that’s a great profit get into now the
second let’s go back to the home page of
Google Trends the second niche that I
want to recommend here is décor simple
as that
décor is not so tapped into and it has a
lot of potential growth in terms of yes
the demand for the products but on top
of that there’s a lot of profit margin
here to work with this is perfect for
high ticket dropshipping and I’ve
preached high ticket drop shipping many
times in the past but let’s go into
specifics here now on top of my head I
know for example
for as an example fare you lights are
very popular now on YouTube as a
youtuber fairy lights a very very you
know popular and and in general décor
it’s very popular as well let’s with
this trend here it doesn’t look too
great but however if I were to sell this
I would go worldwide and I would go all
time 2004 to presents and okay so this
is a better sort of overall look of the
demand for this product as you can tell
it sort of dips and correlates but the
overall trend is it’s on its growth
especially here it is at its growth and
it’s gonna peak again and very soon as
you can tell here it sort of fluctuates
fluctuates fluctuates its Pete not too
long ago earlier will actually either
side of this year it’s kind of come down
again but you can tell by this trend it
is very interesting I’ll tell you an
insight here
zoom into this this insight what this
insight means when you see graphs that
sort of peek at certain times this tells
me one thing and one thing only this
tells me that fairy lights are a very
popular Christmas gift as you can tell
they always peek always peek at December
you know without even looking at the
dates I could tell straight up the bat
just looking at the curves looking at
Google using Google Trends enough every
week really this tells you that it is a
perfect Christmas gift so again like I
said in at the side of this video if you
want to get into these products and set
yourself up to scale the products ASAP
and potentially makes make tens of
thousands of dollars from this single
product then you need to start your
advertising you need to start your store
right now today so fairy lights you know
random example here but a great example
showing you that it is on the upward
trend especially for December when it
peaks at a hundred you can easily scale
this product because there’s gonna be so
much demand on it on the internet and if
you start selling on November you’ve got
all your adds up you’ve got your
Facebook targeting on point you can
simply start scaling and loading off the
budget and it is gonna sell like hot
so that’s very alights now of course
there’s other items which we’re going to
go into but decore it can get quite
expensive and people do pay good money
for it so that is the second niche that
I’m recommending now the final niche is
very simple actually am smart tech when
I say smart tech I mean smart watches
you know smart light bulbs all that good
stuff and even drones because this is a
very popular nation of course this is
all techie and whatnot but 2019 is going
to be surely set for a year where all of
this explodes smart tech wearable tech
drones is set to be on fire in 2019 so
let’s let’s go ahead and check out
drones I’ve got a funny feeling that
drones is on the downward trend because
you know it’s not exactly
as you can tell here but let’s change it
up look at the wider picture again very
important to look at the wider picture
because if you look at the 12 months in
a southern country then it’s you could
be missing on a potential winning
product now if you look here yes it is
sort of on a downward trend and I
thought so as much but I’m sure it’s
going to pick up in 2019 so drones smart
LED light bulbs let’s have done in
smarts for the smite light bulbs now
this is sort of relatively new as you
tell it’s sort of peat here so maybe
this this this one isn’t that great of a
product so potentially don’t go with
this one but um smart tech in general
wearable Tech’s let’s let’s let’s think
about another one here I don’t okay so
video doorbells I know this this one
should be popular because I’ve seen this
quite a lot with as you can tell as I
said it is quite popular it is peaking
as of right now a hundred so this is a
huge one so when you think smart tech
think about the smart home okay I’m
talking about light bulbs I’m talking
about yes video doorbells and I’m
talking about drones and stuff like that
so very techy sort of stuff this stuff
is gonna explode in 2019 now you’re
probably thinking all you know Ethan
this is stuff that’s hard to get on
aliexpress tech is hard to get on
aliexpress yes it is but I’ve already
taught a lot of you guys and if you’re
completely new this channel I’ll say it
again drop shipping does not need to be
purely based on aliexpress drop shipping
is a business models yeah I don’t know
how many times I can say this and preach
this but there are many businesses out
there that are willing to sort of you
know drop get on that drop shipping
model and they don’t need to be on
Aliexpress so yes you can drop ship
drones yes you can drop ship high
quality video doorbells for example you
just need to know where to look and you
need to have that supplier relationship
so you can negotiate and dropship
certain products that might not be
available to the everyday drop shipper
so yeah I’m gonna end off here but I
will give you one bonus point okay and
if that is what is another trend in
28:19 and that is print on demand now
print demand has been growing this year
but why printing demand is so great is
because it doesn’t you don’t need to
look for products to leverage a trend
you can’t excuse me you can’t leverage
products based on trends so for example
if a big event happens and that becomes
the trend you’re not scrambling to look
for products that are related to that
event you can simply create a t-shirt
design based on that event so I suspect
this is this is continuing to grow in
2019 print on demand will be huge so I
do a lot of print demand stuff on this
channel because I love it personally I
love to pair it together with drop
shipping I love to pair it with
Aliexpress products and so there we have

– Hi, guys, I’m Amanda Martin from Lindsey’s Suite Deals Furniture. I came to VaynerMedia because I wanted to see how they could help my business. We did a few initial rounds of questions, and we felt that we were
a good fit for each other. And what you guys are gonna
watch is our first meeting about our brand, and just discussing what we were doing and
getting into a deep dive of how we operate day-to-day business, and what we do to try
to promote our business, and our marketing, and
just everyday operations. And it was so exciting
to be in that meeting and go through with all the Vayner mentors and really dig deep into our business. I can’t wait for you guys to watch this, and hopefully somebody will
learn something from it. I had a really good
time doing this meeting, and I learned a lot,
and we are implementing some of our tactics, and I
cannot even begin to tell you how much it has helped,
and the results that we’ve been getting, and I
can’t wait for the future and to implement some more

– So glad to see you. For two and a half
years, my family business was known as Shopper’s Discount Liquors. There was a sign printed on an eight by 10 on the front sliding door that said “Wine Library,”
and that’s how I, two and a half years, I
traded as and then made the shift to Wine Library from Shopper’s Discount Liquors. So, one of the things you
may want to debate, here, is if you’re trading
differently on dot-com, building up that brand equity, and then, if you decide
that brand is something that you can put on the
front of the building, it might be a worthwhile debate. – [Male] Yep. – So have, like, a different website name? – Yes.
– Okay. – It’s the easiest way for you to, like, solve this potential
issue, I’m coming in cold, I’m listening, but it’s being done a lot. Like, there’s a lot of
opportunity to play both fronts, and then you’ll have the
options to be able to absorb it, and with 85 fucking thousand square feet even if 20,000 or 30,000,
how much is retail? No, no, some of it’s warehouse. – [Male] I’d say we’re probably
right at 50,000 retail. – Right, it’s unlimited space
AKA picking one of the corners and doing something just like cool with like coffee and computers and calling it furniture,
whatever you call it, let’s just call it, Orsini’s House, let’s say that’s the brand you went with, calling that corner like Orsini’s Cafe, there’s a couple tables, little fresh coffee and you’ve got laptops there and it’s all to Orsini’s, now you’ve injected that in your, it’s an organ within your body that eventually could become the body. Something to think about.
– So like on the computers they’d be able to shop the website or? – Yes. It’s just establishing
the brand strategically. Like I would argue one of the things that may come up here today is literally looking at 5,000 square feet to do something completely
left fucking field, like a coworking space. If you’re selling B to B merch, are you selling to B to B’s at all? – [Amanda] Not really. – It’s kind of an interesting conversation as start up craze takes over the world. I know this is super left field but what if you did have three
to five thousand square feet of coworking space and had entrepreneurs sitting there the same way Starbucks
has them sitting there and then that started
giving you a B to B flavor ’cause you have people there and all of a sudden
even the area they’re in has B to B thinking around, it’s more like do you need
a couch for your office? That could just change the dynamics of different usage for you. Look, I think both ways can work. To me, the bigger question is what are you trying to accomplish? So let me ask a different question, what’s your lease situation? – [Amanda] We’re buying the building. – That’s great. So I assume that’s a
big capital expenditure? – [Amanda] Mmhmm. – So I think you’ve got
to really be smart here because if you’re making that cog move, I do not believe it’s a good buy no matter how good of
a deal you’re getting unless you turn the
location into something more than what you actually do. I couldn’t say this enough. You’re so young. I’m so worried about what
your business looks like between a dot-com and a physical location a decade from today, not this year, that I think what this is all about, the reason we even built mentors is I knew that in these meetings, there’s gonna be one to three
things that we could bring that are disproportionately impactful for what it costs in return. The number one thing I would tell you is the two things that
you need to care about, I literally don’t care about anything else in
your business right now other than two things. One, the hell are you gonna do inside your 85,000 square
feet that’s different that has nothing to do or is
complementary to what you do for the sake of the business? Even marketing, back to B to B, real estate, what if you’re the stage for all real estate events in your, you have to figure that out. And number two, you have
to figure out dot-com. Every day that you wake up, find good deals, taking
care of your staff, taking care of your customers, amazing, guess what? Number three, four and five. Number one and two is what other capital are we gonna pour into
this 85,000 square feet that are gonna, like you know what comes with renovations, you may have to have a separate entrance, you may have to, who the hell knows right? I couldn’t stress enough
of that importance, in parallel, you’re pulling
from opposite directions. You’re making a double
investment into your physical and you’re trying to
almost eliminate people from coming in to build up your dot-com, that religion. It’s what I did. I love giving advice I took. We built a seven million dollar building while we poured every asset
into building into one of the biggest leaders. And if my dad was sitting here right now, his biggest concern is
like foot traffic is down. The end.
– Yeah and I think sometimes my long term sight that’s what I get worried about but I know that E-com
is important as well. – There is no as well. – [Male] Everything’s equally important. We have to build today, no, we’ve got to think about tomorrow and me being on the front end of all this, that’s what I deal with every single day. Everybody walks through that door no matter how I price, what
floor structure I have, they’ve got their phone in front of them. – I want this.
– I can get it here for this price. – Are you willing to match it? And I apologize, what are
you doing in that scenario? Are you matching pricing? – [Male] Oh yeah. – 100% of the time, if it’s legit? – [Male] There’s some things that we see– – [Amanda] 98% of the time. – [Male] I had an instance the other day where we was gonna make seven bucks. – I think you’re making
a huge mistake then and you have a huge opportunity. Let me tell you a story. My dad, in the liquor business they
have something called the ABC. ABC came in one day and they’re like, “You can’t do case discounts.” My dad’s reaction was to
put everything at 15% off from bottle one. So it wasn’t even a case discount anymore, in essence, everything was on sale. – The store was on sale. – The store was on sale. So some things were on sale sale like it was 15, it’s 9.99 but if it wasn’t, if it was
just a regular item, it was 15, by default it rung up
at the register 15% off. The problem was he never told anyone. We did no marketing. So overnight one day, we became the best
priced store in the state yet nobody knew and people didn’t even know ’cause we didn’t do internal signage. I’m just telling you the truth. People would be like, alright,
I’m gonna buy this for 15, you get to the register and it’s 13.40, ahh, okay. – Price mistake. – I am telling you right now, I’m telling you right now, the number one thing I would do right now, temporary banner sign,
not sign on the building, is have as big of a sign as
the town will let you say that we match all internet prices, little asterisk, as you get
closer to the building it says, two percent, like, I
would just arbitrarily, and you’ve got to find out the like, but I think it’s two percent of times there are some restrictions
or private labels that we’re unable to match. Nobody driving by your building and coming to your store thinks that. Here’s my question, if the truth is, if five out of 10 people are actually doing what you just said, I would tell you that you should go there. If it’s three out of 10 but it feels like every person, then you’ve got to debate because you’d be giving
up a lot of margin. If it’s seven out of 10, you might want to make it a
permanent sign in your building. Now my question is, what is it really? What’s your gut tell you? – [Male] I would say
that actually approaches me or a sales person on the floor probably three out of 10. – But you know it’s in their minds.
– But when I’m walking around that store, they don’t know I’m–
– Everyone’s on the phone. Watching. – 20 feet away and I
see a husband and wife over there with their telephone out, I don’t think they’re
texting their grandkids. – Do you believe they’re
looking at the couch testing, touching and
then ordering online? ‘Cause I think that’s what’s happening. – [Male] From somebody else? – Yes ’cause that’s what’s happening at Best Buy and Target
and many other places. – [Male] And I do realize even with, you can take not just internet wise, I know we’re losing some sales there but even say the Ashley
Home Store across town, we sell Ashley furniture as well. There’s certain things that there are over there in that show
room they can’t find, maybe if they like their
experience better over there and they think they’re
getting a better price, they’re in Lindsey’s sitting on that sofa, walk out the door and go
back over there and buy it. – Who’s the better price, you or them? – [Male] I beat them up and
down the road every day. – [Amanda] When we go to our Ashley reps, they say that they brag about us all the time.
– They bring it in display, I don’t care if– – [Male] I’ll tell you
what I came to find. I didn’t realize that
Ashley is two things, corporate owned Ashley
where I got great prices and franchise Ashley where
I can’t get great prices. – [Male] And then– – And then retailers. – [Male] And then you’ve got– – Have you guys built a private label? – [Male] We’ve worked toward
it with some Ashley furniture about turning a section called Our Rooms. Ashley will actually provide these tags, we’re the only ones that can have it I think within 300 miles,
something like that. We’ve been working toward that goal of just snatching the
Ashley tags altogether, putting the Our Rooms tag– – I’m listening, keep going. – [Male] And more or less creating that– – Brand. – [Male] Yeah that hey, this is us, this isn’t Ashley. And I realize somebody
could lift a cushion and they could figure it out but most people shopping furniture, in my eyes, they don’t know the difference between coaster Ashley or Jim Bob’s. – Yeah. – [Male] They sit on it, they like it, they feel it, they touch it. – It looks good, let’s go. – It’s all about the profit to me. If we’re not making profit– – ‘Cause Mr. Lindsey grew
up in the day of discount the way my dad did. It’s what my dad did too. – He’d buy a coach for $400, he sell it for 125 bucks and it was all about this big
number at the end of the day but if he didn’t make any damn money– – He was trying to make
as much sales as possible. – [Amanda] Sales yeah. – Yep, listen I know it. I’m actually a believer in it. VaynerMedia doesn’t make any money either. I believe in it, you just have to get
the biggest value for it and then to your point, it also depends on what you’re trying, 10% profit at the end of the year feels different than four and 40. – Gary, what made you pivot? ‘Cause there may be
some similarities here. They came in with an expansion plan and didn’t you originally think you were gonna have 10 Wine Libraries? – Yes. – And then moved in a different direction, where one giant one– – Because the dot-com had
way more potential in it than I anticipated at the time. – But you still expanded
the one that you had? – Dramatically.
– They still have 32,000 square feet, they’re now at 80,000. – Yeah, but moments in time. If I could eliminate the second floor of my dad’s store right now, I would. – And I think categories as well. – I just think that making the buying, why are you buying the building? Just ’cause you’re young and fuck it, let me just buy an asset? – [Amanda] Yeah because down the road, it could be anything.
– It’s an asset. I think that’s right. And why ’cause the landlord’s selling? Landlord’s selling? Did Mr. Lindsey never own it? – [Amanda] No. It was a different guy. He’s out of Birmingham but it was actually an RV center and he doesn’t live in Panama City, it sat there empty for sale
for a really, really long time and we were in the same
plaza and our lease was up and so we started debating and we’re like, well it just at the time made
sense to go in and purchase. – And you did that already? – [Amanda] I mean we’re
still paying obviously but– – Of course but you
did buy it, you got it? Oh great, awesome. – And so then the same owner actually has a piece
of property next door, still wooded but my long term goal is buy that, tear all the woods down and make that the warehouse. – Interesting. – So then I can take the wall back down. – If you do not build a private brand, you will lose. If you don’t make a massive
commitment to building a brand, you will lose. I genuinely believe that. You’re making such an investment in a decreasing asset to where the future’s going. You have to at all costs, and whether you start light with using Ashley to do it for you and you graduate one day ’cause there’s a third senior partner here and her or his job is to go to China ’cause she used to work at Ashley and now she’s your creator of product, she comes back with a bubble
wrap based fabric this, five people couches instead of one or foldable or I saw that one company you can make a couch in a box, expandable. So whatever it is, I’m gonna tell you right
now, one man’s point of view, what I think you paid for, you have to figure out what
to do with some of your space that does not do what you do now, that has to be so left field thinking, coworking space, a cafe, number two, you have to figure out dot-com and I mean like. – [Male] Yesterday. – Yesterday. I apologize and yes of course, and then number three, you have to create a private label. Name it after some kids,
grandkids, uncle, Lindsey himself, maybe when you rebrand the company maybe that’s the private label itself, who the hell knows? It will be your only asset. You’re so young. It’s going to be your asset in 30 years. Your private label business will be more valuable
than your real estate. Are you able to offer something above and beyond the actual product? So to me the next logical place to have a conversation is the service of room design. The thing that makes somebody
actually buy from you and pay $35 more is that they value the $100
room design fee from Sarah that you built up on YouTube and Facebook and Sarah is your Sarah. So one of the things I’m thin, this is a very comfortable zone
for me to strategize around ’cause I lived it, service layered on top of retail is a very big deal for you because if you go far
out with the shipping, me in my 20s single guy and
I want to put furniture in, I don’t know where the
fuck to put it, whatever. If I knew that I could
spend an extra 100 bucks because the website showed
a video and she’s like, “I’m Karen, I’ll literally
come to your house “for an extra 100 bucks on
top of your $1,000 order “and it’s super worth it
because I’ll Feng shui this “and I’ll shmay this,” and
whatever the hell it is. I think you need to start debating that. Everything that I’m
hearing from your business is what I love because you’ve got the
foundational aspect of it down but you guys are smart and realize that’s a rat race. If you keep doing the business the way you’re exactly doing it, they’ll be good years, they’ll be bad years, but it all is getting trickled
away every single day. It’s kind of why I had to
do a wine club for my dad. He needed an injection this last summer because he needed more
cash to do more marketing and I created a wine club that
generated $2 million for him. Every single month, he’s getting that and we’re able to use
those dollars to market and now we’re starting, got it? You need those injections. To me, dot-com is not an injection. Dot-com’s a fucking artery, back to a body, dot-com’s like a heart, what else can’t you live? – Lung. – But you can live with one right? – With one, yes. – Yeah, so I’m thinking about only one, what else can’t you live without? – [Female] Your brain. – Fair. So to me, no that’s perfect, the retail store is the
heart and the brain, the heart and the brain. And the heart can be the store and the brain can be the dot-com, I like the analogy of that and that’s not being creative, that’s just table stakes. Adding a service on top of, with videos, with YouTube ’cause you never go away and a new interior designer, adding a private label, taking 5,000 square feet in your store and literally going rogue as fuck, like I don’t know, put a fitness thing in, could you imagine if you put, you know how many influencers in fitness there are on Instagram now? Could you imagine if you just
put a fitness area in there and literally it was in essence a free workout club? – [Male] Or Ikea who put
that child setup area where kids play. – Or you start– – [Amanda] ‘Cause I’ve seen
some who have IMAX theaters. I think in Connecticut there’s one. – [Male] There’s one in Connecticut that’s got climbing walls in it. – A furniture store? – [Male] Yeah. – Makes fucking sense, makes sense. – Swedish meatballs at IKEA. Well known, people go there just to have the Swedish meatballs. – You’ve got to give them
another reason to come. – I’ve been saying that
the last six, eight months. We need to become a destination store that’s something cool.
– You’re too big, 85,000 square feet. – Well and another– – I apologize real quick because I don’t want to lose the thought, and if you reverse engineer
who your clients are, then you can really make it good meaning, that’s why I like classes, we’re starting to play with it
a little bit at Wine Library, if you’re doing business classes, think about who you want because if you do, so I did something for the last
year at Wine Library as well where I’m running Facebook ads to give away $10 worth of
free food, straight up. Just walk in, get some
sausage, get some cheese, get some pickles and 9.09
and walk up to the register, scan a barcode and you’re out. And it’s driving my dad crazy because and you’ll love this Dennis, he goes, “The fucking Russians are coming in here “and they’re sending their
aunt and their uncle.” And I’m like, “Dad, the whites
and the African Americans “and the Latinos, they’re also doing it “but the Russians rub you the wrong way.” He goes, “I know because
they’re speaking Russian, “he doesn’t know that
he can understand them “and they’re like, “These,”” and they’re saying things like, “These fucking idiots, “they don’t realize we’re
getting $50 worth of free food.” And I’m saying to my dad, I go, “Dad, you don’t get it. “If you run the numbers, “if you look at the receipts, “we’re making enough on the added sales “for the people that
aren’t breaking the system “and are buying $280 worth
of stuff on top of it “and we’re running it in hours “where we don’t have people coming in “and it’s great for all the
people driving by our highway “seeing a full parking lot at 10 AM.” Got it? Brand. I think about brand. You live in Springfield, you’ve now started shopping at King’s too, supermarket started having
wine, hurt our business, makes sense, right, convenience. They’re four, five, six,
seven dollars a bottle more. But it’s an affluent area and I don’t want to go to
Wine Library for 10 minutes and pay seven dollars less
on this $17 item, I’m rich. And so a person driving to King’s
to their food market at 9:35 in the morning and seeing a full Wine Library
parking lot, that works. – [Male] Their wife. – Uh huh, they’re like, just everybody, a human, oh, they’re busy.
– What’s going on there? – [Amanda] Yeah, what’s going on? – So food trucks is another thing that’s really worked for me. I don’t know what your parking, you own the building,
it’s a shopping center or free standing store? – [Amanda] Shopping center. – So you don’t own the shopping center? – [Amanda] Well that part we own. – [Male] Seven and a half acres total. – You have a lot of parking? Can I make a huge, huge random idea? You should do food truck
events in your parking lot on weekends. There’s so many food truck
businesses in Florida. Go on Twitter, find them, go on Instagram, find them, invite them, offer them free space. Be like, hey, come, and then market it, do you have an email
newsletter for your customers? – [Amanda] No. – Okay, we have to do that ASAP. Highly, highly, do you have
a card, a membership card? You have no data on your customers? – [Male] No. – This is great. This is so fun for me. How bad is your POS system, old school? – [Amanda] Old school. – You should have every
single customer’s information, every single customer. You have a high ticket item. What’s the average sale? – 1,500. – Fuck me, this is great. – 3,000 purchases a year roughly. – [Amanda] Roughly. – Right. Can you sell something less expensive? Can we come up with a signature product, what happens when it snows? It doesn’t snow in Florida. I’m sorry, that’s not where I’m going. (crosstalk) – What happens when it snow? – Sweat at the grave. – Fans and air conditioning,
do you go that route? You don’t go hard weary that way, right? – Do you have universities around? – Community college. Oh actually Florida
State has a branch there. – What do you mean has a, oh has a… – Target buses, students before they move into dorms every year. – God, there’s so much you could be doing. It’s cool.
– There are no dorms. – There are no dorms? – It’s a commuter FSU. – Rentals. – [Amanda] Rentals. – Exactly.
– And then we have a lot of new developments going up. – Back to school drives when you send buses, bring
hundreds of students, they shop, you drive them back. – Gary, what do you think about this? The new brand, it’s an
E-com or digital company that happens to have a retail location? It’s completely different thinking. Not that you have a retail
store that has a website. It’s an E-com company that happens to have a retail location. – That’s what Wine Library became. – I like it. Just the dynamic of what we do every day and what I live every
day on the front lines, I just feel like we’ve got to get there. – So here’s what I would say, a couple things you have
to wrap your head around. You’re gonna have to hire
somebody to run your dot-com. You’re gonna have to have too
much expertise to compete. It’s not 1997 anymore where everybody was
kind of figuring it out. You’re gonna need something. And the good news is there’s a lot of young bucks out there who will love the autonomy and will flat out think, I’ll take this job ’cause I’ll
be able to learn everything and I’ll leave in three years and honestly, that’s a good trade, good for you, good for them. I do believe in parts of the country you can get somebody
that’s very knowledgeable for 40 to 60,000 which we would laugh here, it would cost us 250 for those skills but I do think it’s out
there, I do, I really do. You’ve got to find the right kid or the right retiree or there’s a million different things. – ‘Cause that’s my biggest thing, the website we have now, we only have seven to 10
of our companies on there ’cause that’s all the catalogs that the website company has built but 10 is all they allow me on there. So there’s so many more brands and products–
– What do you use? What do you use for that? ‘Cause I couldn’t figure
out what platform. – [Amanda] The company? It’s a renaissance group out of Jersey.
– Are there a reason why you use that and not Shopify? – Because they’re more catered
to the furniture industry. – Really? – So they already had the catalogs built. So all I had to say was
okay, add these companies and then here’s my mark
up and then it was done. I didn’t have to send
them a bunch of pictures, I didn’t have to send them my lead sales.
– When we rethink it, we can think Shopify gives
you tremendous platform and then on top of that, building that catalog, I have built catalogs
that have 25,000 items and it’s an investment. Once you make that investment, you could be the platform. ‘Cause right now, you’re getting boxed in to no solutions, right? – No Solutions yet,
exactly except from Gary. Let’s quickly shift gears to brand, right? What kind of brand are you
envisioning you can build? What do you have in your guts? What is it that you have that differentiates yourself from others? Whether it’s in real life or online? Give us your thinking and as you’re thinking,
then we’ll start writing. – [Amanda] I didn’t really
think about the brand. – What do you want to stand for? – [Amanda] I would
personally like to stand for being there for the customer. I hate to say this but I don’t always think
the customer’s right but I want them to have a
good shopping experience. This is a lot of money, 200, 500 dollars could mean the world to somebody and I want them to know
that we appreciate them spending their hard earned
money at our store on us. We want to give them a great experience, we want them to not
leave and be pissed off. Some people are just unreasonable so you can’t help everybody but helping a majority of our customers get what they need and not have to go to Amazon to buy sheets and not having to go to
Walmart to get pillows. I want to be the all in one. – So what I’m hearing is customer care, being there for customer was
the first thing that you said. It seems like it’s in your heart. So care. Then, value for money but this is a shopping
experience was another one. Selection, so good. Excellent. Talk to us about your
current customer experience because that’s what we’ve
been hearing a lot about. – [Amanda] It’s pretty good right now. My assistant, she’s chatty Kathy– – Let’s pause. Take us through a customer experience when she walks into your store. gonna come in there and be what we want them to be, that’s gonna put forth the effort or have the visions or the wants and the growth that we want to have. I’m to a place where we have to hire warm bodies in a lot of ways. I wouldn’t hire these
people in a million years. – Five or 10 years ago. – But just to what you said, where somebody’s greeting people– – We had a very similar
situation with Wine Library. We did something that
came unnatural to us. We went to the sphere
a little bit further. Paid a little bit more, we recruited a little bit different, we went to some colleges
further out of our realm. We now have more employees, we used to have our employees travel within 15 minutes. We now have plenty of
people commuting 40 minutes. We’re paying a little bit more to subsidize that travel cost but it really worked for us. I would really look at, whether it’s community
colleges or other things, it’s gonna cost you more money but the delta’s better, how much would that kind of person, what would you pay them, minimum wage? What’s that entry level? – We’re more $10, $12 but and then what you’ve said, I mean Amanda and I talked about it and we’ve stepped that game up. – I would highly recommend going further out and going 14, you’re just gonna win. – [Male] And there’s no
commission tied to their salary, just salary? – Well, they get mattress
spiffs and warranty spiffs and different things like that. They can make up to $100 on one mattress. – Really? I want to go sell a mattress. I’m like, really, 100 bucks? – We should do it on a weekend. – Yeah, we should. – Where that disconnect comes because you’ve got the quality of a 10 or 12 dollar an hour person here even though you’re
dangling that $100 carrot, they can’t attain that $100 carrot.
– Makes sense, makes sense. I think it’s about kissing more frogs. It worked for us. I was like, “Brandon, we
just need to hire way more.” Brandon like you, he’s been
in our business for 20 years. I don’t know how long you’ve been in it, but you get caught in your old habits. It’s very hard at retail not to think about what you
used to get for 8.50 an hour. I know what you’re going through. This is why this works for me. This is why I can give this advice. It worked. We went to 14, we went
further out of our circle, ton of people suck shit still but we got over the course of a year, 71 people in, 70 people in and four were phenomenal and now they’re a foundation and we’re gonna get two,
three, four years out of them. – Yeah. And I think coming out
of the Mr. Lindsey era, that was a lot of what it was. Jim, that old school way, my God, I’m giving people $10 an hour. – Fuck you. – Dedicate your life to me. – [Amanda] Yeah basically. – They’re not gonna do it. – My dad literally paid
people 5.50 an hour back in the day when I started and thought they should treat it like it was their own store. – Including you. – Two for me. I was under the table. – He was feeding you two. – I was two bucks. I was supposed to pay him. Dude, honestly, I swear to
God that’s a great idea. I think everything, I would basically look at the area and try to figure out what’s underserved. Is there one coffee shop too little? Is there one gym too little? Is there one soul cycle type of bicycle? Is there no coworking space? To me, all of it’s interesting. I just know for a fact that when you have that kind of an asset of 85,000 square feet, there’s more you can do, what we’re not talking about yet is our ability to help you once you hire somebody
to run Facebook ads. They’re the best local ads
you could ever imagine. All the things that Mr. Lindsey did with direct mail and coupons
or whatever the fuck he did to build up the business 30, 40 years ago, that I did as well, it
works, it just works. But when you have something
to say, it’s better. Targeting people that live
within a 20 mile radius that are into cross fit that you now have a free gym in the middle of your
store is a conversation. So I think that’s right, Sabir. I think to me, what I try
to get out of my time here is the most macro and we’re gonna be together again but to me, between now and the
time we get to see you again, I want the framework that I
see you guys taking notes, I want to know what
we’re doing with dot-com. It’s the brain. Can’t be a person without a brain. I want to know how you’re thinking about the physical location
to do something else with it. I want to know how you’re thinking about the private label and I want to know, those to me are the three and then the next tier gets in to making sure we get data from everybody, the strategy around hiring
a little bit further out. That’s your business. But the food truck thing
would fucking work. – [Amanda] Right. We have one guy, prime rib, and we asked him and he’s like, “I can’t.” I don’t know why he can’t
put it in his schedule. He must have too many spots or something. – I respect that. – So I want to keep– – Is your parking lot
busy on the weekends? – Yeah. – Like for the center? – I think that’s really gonna improve. It’s an older shopping center. They’re putting in some kind
of electric go cart track and actually in our old building, we’re still in the same shopping center that the old location
that the lease was in. There’s a Dollar General there. The only problem is we’re on the far end of
that shopping center. – Like what I was telling you, people are like, “Where are you? “We’re in the parking lot.” – You’ll never believe this. My dad’s liquor store, his first one was in Clark, New Jersey. The whole shopping center was over here. You’d come from the road here and all the stores are here and my dad’s liquor store
was here free standing. – That’s kind of like how our building. – In the same shopping center. So I get it man, fuck, I get it and my store Wine
Library was free standing and all the stores I competed against would have a Whole Foods in the shopping, I’d always be pissed, I’d be like, “Fuck, those suckers suck. “They get all this by accident business. “Every customer I have, I’m earning.” – Well then they built the Hathaway Bridge that comes like say the store sets here, the bridge comes up and goes this way. So it’s even worse ’cause we’re down here in this corner. So if you’re heading west– – You don’t even see it. – There’s really no way to turn in there unless you turn at the light up here, that’ll get you in the shopping center. Otherwise, you have to
go down, turn around, come back up to it.
– We have signage, people steal, yeah, they just steal. – Are you advertising? – [Amanda] Mmhmm. – Where and how? – [Amanda] Facebook and then
in that goes to Instagram. Texting program, commercials on TV, commercials on the radio. – 19 billboards.

it would say 10, 15, 20% off? – [Amanda] Yeah, 10% off,
20% off, free delivery and then we had a $1,500 shopping spree. – Somebody won it? – [Amanda] Yeah. – Did they lose their shit? – [Amanda] Yeah. – We kind of gave it to somebody we wanted to give it too. (laughing) There was actually four or

own five condos down there. I just called Jill and said, “Jill–” – I would send Teresa to fucking, I would send her to Napa. – I can’t send Teresa anywhere, she’s my assistant. So we built a second office within the store just
for a checkout window and he goes, “Are you
putting her in there?” I said, “Hell no.” I said, “When I need somebody to yell at, “I need her right there.” She’s like my Google Assistant. – I get it. – I’m like, “Teresa, remember this.” – Your new name is Alexa. – Okay, couple of other questions. So growth might be limited
by our geographic location. So we need to understand what’s happening with demographics.
– Is that 100% true? – No, no, I didn’t say that this is, I didn’t say that this is, I’m saying that this is an
avenue that we have to explore to understand what is our
geographic limitation, who’s our competition and your ambition? How far do you want to go? 10, 15 years down the road. – That’s exactly right, Dennis. – Who do you want to be? – [Male] The biggest baddest furniture store known.
– A top 100. – Top 100 in the country? Okay good. Because that will calibrate our approach. – I think that that needs
to be debated for a second ’cause I think it’s the right
answer from entrepreneurs but I think we actually should
talk about it for a second ’cause this is where I think I can help. That’s super arbitrary. 100’s a good number, I get it. I actually think you need to ask yourself, here is why VaynerMedia and
Wine Library really, really won, ’cause I didn’t need any money. And I don’t mean it’s
because I already had money. It’s ’cause I don’t need any money. How much profit is the business making? And obviously you’re running
your lifestyle through it, you’re paying yourself to be able to, the profit that it makes
at the end of the year, you’re kind of rolling
back in the business or are you taking that out for whatever’s? – Back in the business. – Right. So your lifestyle’s
predicated on the salaries you guys have created right? – Right. – But you’re also paying off, you’ve also purchased a really good asset. – Right. – Right, you’re paying off
that mortgage through that, that’s dragging into your profit, right? – From her end, it’s paid for. – 165 a year, that’s what you get? – This is literally my
fucking dad’s business. – 165K a year? – Literally. – It’s sort of like 140’s the ballpark, it’s not in the bank but
it’s in the warehouse. – By geography because of physical limits. – No ABC but like the world
coming down Earth road on dot-com. That’s one good thing
about the liquor business is it’s regulated. So there is no Wayfair, there’s no liquor leader ’cause it’s fucking fragmentation at scale protected by laws. I think one thing that I think
you should really think about with each other since you’re
really partners in crime, I would highly recommend mapping out how much money you want to take home over the next 20 years. I’m not kidding. Number by number. By the way, I don’t care if it goes down. I know nothing about you. I’m making less money than I have because I have a vision and everyone’s allowed
to do whatever they want. It would really, really, really help because the number one
thing that you have to do to win, in my opinion, is to invest every dollar properly to maximize your growth. The more dollars you have, the more you can invest. It’s the scrutiny of your expenses and what you’re doing
on the advertising front and then into what, to
me it’s very simple, create containers, that’s back to dot-com, something in store, private label, those are the containers and then what do you spend money on to make those containers successful. Got it? And so what’s a very unique thing and I’m saying this more for the team get them in the right place, VaynerMedia was built very uniquely. There haven’t been many people that have come into the advertising space that really saw an opportunity to leverage their personal brand as a gateway branding mechanism to a large fortune 500 consumer set and then converted. So when we look at our PNL, my team is an expensive line item. It’s not the kind of thing that other companies have but they have a new
business team that has. But I knew what containers I had, what I was trying to accomplish and then I started spending
against those containers. Building a dot-com, right now with that little of margin and me assuming back
to the family business, I understand the size here, it’s not like you guys are rolling in it and buying mansions and Porsches. Well, guess what? A new POS system, hiring a full time dot-com person, the capital expenses
of doing something new inside the store that might cost renovations. I’m not so sold that
you have the cash flow for all of that. And so then I’d say to myself, okay, what are they spending
money on for advertising? I believe some of it is way
less valuable than you think because you can’t measure it right now. So you might feel 19
billboards are awesome and they might not be or they might be. Maybe it’s actually 29 and no commercials. Maybe it’s just commercials. How much are you spending on marketing? – 350. – A year?
– Yeah. So it’s roughly 34,000 I
think it was, 35,000 a month. – And what’s that broken down to? – It’s 25% digital, 25% TV and out of home I
think it was 16%, yeah. – What do you think’s working the best and what do you think is working the worst out of your advertising if you just had to guess? – [Dennis] Radio, Pandora, 14,
television, 24, digital, 24, billboards, 32.
– Why are we doing Pandora? – [Amanda] I did it at the
end of ’16, beginning of ’17. – Is it targeted local? – [Amanda] It was, yeah. – And was it working? – [Amanda] No, so I stopped. – Okay. – [Male] And I sort of– – I love that you test shit, it’s so smart, 100%, forever. – [Amanda] And I get a little scared because we do so much, that I’m like, shit, I don’t want to drop this ’cause what if that was working and it takes three more
months to get it back? – Here’s what I would tell you. I’m convinced that your 34 can be 15, do exactly what it’s doing,
I just don’t know how yet. And then all of a sudden,
that 20 becomes 240 and that 240 pays for a POS, it pays for 49 year old young Sabir who can actually be
there day in and day out. He’s growing hair back,
I’m pretty impressed. – I need to shave it
off once it gets warmer. I look like Dr. Evil
when I shave my head off. – I think that’s where you
have to look at a little bit. I think it’s gonna cost you
a little bit more for staff if you go down my route
and go 14, 15 outside but I think you’ll get that back. 15, 14 guys and gals do a care a little bit more
about that 100 to your point which means you’re
selling an extra mattress. You’re not giving them
100 for kicks and giggles, it matters for your business. – I think still going back to the ambition because even financing might be an option. If there vision is there, if the mechanics are there too. So it’s not necessarily
financing tomorrow, it might be three years down the road when we have the brand, when we have all of those
private label running, then all of a sudden, you’re ready. – Look, I think that’s probably right. I think what we need to do here as a team is figure out if that’s
truly three years from now, let’s say, arbitrarily. I don’t have a whole lot of energy to get too overly worried
about that right now ’cause it’s further away. To me it’s just, the 34K a month in marketing
is awfully interesting because when you have a legendary business that’s been in the same general location for how many years? – [Amanda] Six. – But you’ve been in the
same shopping center for? – Six. We were like, it was in the
middle of the shopping center and then up until ’16,
we were down at the end. – But you’re still in
that same shopping center. And how long, six you said? – Yeah, six years. – And before that, where was it? – We started six years ago. – [Male] That was when– – The Legacy brand was for 25 years in a few locations. – I totally understand. To me, okay, got it, that
is a little bit different. It would be interesting to see, the advertising, that’s
your biggest expense. Your mortgage, you’ve
got your advertising, you’ve got your payroll, inventory. Actually, that’s a good one, and I know I’ve got to run in a second but that one helped us

that I think about it and my dad thinks about

– Yeah. How much inventory are you holding? – [Amanda] A lot. – I know. Let’s talk about it. – And that goes back, that comes back from Mr. Lindsey. Amanda and I’s big part in this has all really happened
over the past year. – I believe it. – The changes and everything– – ‘Cause Mr. Lindsey opened
that place six years ago, was still in the game pretty seriously. – Yeah. – Understood. And why is he out of the game? Just got older, is he sick, is he okay? – [Amanda] No, he’s fine. – He’s just fucking tired? He’s like fuck it? He’s like, I believe you can do it? – [Amanda] Yeah I think so. – Either that or she was gonna kill him, one or the other. – What do you think, finally I found somebody
who can do something? And how long have you

last week buying furniture. All the new stuff, you
see it, then you get it probably August, September. Jim would go to those markets and he didn’t give a damn if

could buy it for 50 bucks instead of 100. – He loved closeouts and I don’t think he ever understood that it was a closeout for a reason. – Well, he believed in his salesmanship. I mean I bought closeouts,
I love closeouts because I knew I could sell
’em when nobody else could. He didn’t go out of business, he just knew that he would be able, somebody’d come in and
want to buy something, he would be like, “Don’t buy
that, buy this for 55 bucks.” – Right. And we’re stuck with a ton of that. – Still? – Still.

talk about it, how much? No this is, you have to understand, how much, when you come back here, I want to see how much inventory you have that you deem fucked? – Retail or cost? – Cost and retail. – Okay. – How much you think, gut? – You may have to buy that. – Go find that company for
me, James, MNA, VaynerX. I’m super pumped right now. You’ve given me a real light. I’m telling you right now that half a million to a million, and you think that’s cost? You’re guessing, it’s fine. And would it be appropriate to think that you’re gonna have to sell that for like 50 cents on the dollar less than the cost?
– Some of it. – This is a real opportunity guys. This is where a lot of retail stores lose. They put their head in the sand ’cause they don’t want to think about it ’cause they know it’s a fucking mess. Meanwhile, it’s the place where, you could give it away
and change your business. You have to understand,

bullets sitting back there ready to be shot. – You can fuel the other three points. – You know how much better
your radio campaign will work that says, “We’re giving away
$10,000 worth of furniture “in the first hour this Saturday.”? You’ve got ammo. You’ve got two things that I need, this is how I built my dad’s business. He had the same fucking problem, this is fucking deja vu. He had ammo and he had
advertising or not advertising, it was either advertising
that wasn’t effective or he had no advertising. Again, you’ve already probably made a commitment
to the radio thing. All you have to do is just
change the fucking copy. So you pay another 50, 500 bucks, whatever the fuck the
price is for a new read and the read is, “August 7th, “giving away $10,000 worth of sofas,” the next week, “August 14th is Couch Day.” – Then we clean up? – Clean up, clean up and you could do a very simple thing. You could price it
appropriately and be like, we are doing the buy
one, get one free sale. We will have all the get one
free products in the front. You buy any product
that matches that price, you get an equal value of
the free section product. You buy $1,500 couch, you get a $1,500 couch for
free ’cause you price it. You know that that couch is really 350 but if it was 1,500 at one point, and they’re gonna say shit, well that’s not 15 but still, it’s fucking free, still you got already good prices. And all you’re doing is you’re inducing it to sell more of something else. You have ammo. That is huge. – And that could be the 250K that you can fund everything.

scale with so to get this original content what we’re gonna do is send the products to three to five people who can record content for you and then you’re gonna split that content into a bunch of four-second Clips compile it together with the software that I like to use called Animoto and then you can use that as your video all right so the first thing you need to do is get some content made for your video ad obviously so there’s three methods that I like to use for getting video content made number one is Fiverr so what you can do on Fiverr is you can just go ahead and search product video product demo and then you can send them a custom inquiry explaining exactly what you need and if you have specific requirements for actors or models or that type of thing you can search model video model that type of thing on Fiverr and send them a custom inquiry based on exactly what you need so just because their gig doesn’t specifically say that they make a product video or something like that if you can if you can see that they’re they make videos and they’re the type of actor that you need you can send them a custom inquiry and they’ll be happy to make the video for you just to show you an example I went on Fiverr and I just typed in product video and just right here the first one um 68 Canadian dollars so about fifty US dollars for a product video and then you have a male actor over here so you could check out the gig see what he does and if you need something specific you can just go ahead and send him a message and tell him what you need and he’ll get back to you with the price another method that I like to use to get video content is to use Instagram influencers so for certain products you’ll have a bunch of Instagram influencers who already make videos for that type of product regularly and they have a lot of experience doing it so if you reach out to them you’ll be able to get a good price for a good video since they have experience making that type of video so an example of this would be the makeup niche right you have a ton of makeup girl that pretty much all they do is they make videos reviewing different makeup palettes that type of thing so if you just reach out to them and you ask I have this product could you make a video you don’t even have to post it on your feet I just need the video content for an ad you can negotiate with them and get really really good prices so you could just ask them for a regular influence or post on their page but that’ll cost you a lot more so if you’re trying to save money you can just say I don’t need it posted on your feed I just need the video content if you do choose to go with Instagram influencers to get video content I have two tips so number one is to look for smaller influencers because they’re obviously going to charge a lot less and they expect less out of companies versus larger influencers number two is to look for influencers that don’t have management because if they have management you’re gonna have to deal with the management and even if you explain that you don’t need the video posted on their feed to them it doesn’t really make a big difference it’s still a promotional asset with that influencer in it and they’re gonna charge a ridiculous amount so I actually pulled up an influencer that I’ve used in the past before and that’s a great example of this so makeup with Jojo 43,000 followers and this is a great example so she makes makeup videos makeup content so if you have a product that’s in that niche or closely related to that niche you could reach out to her and get a video made so just to show you the type of videos that she would make this seems to be one right here and yeah as you can see she makes super high quality videos and since she doesn’t have that big of a follower base you can negotiate and get a good deal okay so the last strategy that you can use to make video content is actually just to make it yourself so if your product doesn’t require actors you can just order the product to your house and shoot video content yourself with an HD camera and if you don’t have one you can probably just use your iPhone since those cameras are getting so good and if your product does require actors well you can just ask for help to your friends your family your girlfriends something like that and get videos made that way so once you’ve got the video content sorted out the next step is to write a script for your video ad so since we’re going to be slicing up the video content that we get from the influencers or 5 or whatever into short for second clips or 5 second Clips you’re going to want to have one caption for each of those clips and you want the caption to kind of go along what’s being shown in the video so you want simple short easy to read captions the first few lines should grab your viewers attention with social proof so something that works well for a lot of people is writing something like everyone is talking about this people are going crazy about this the Internet’s going crazy about this that type of thing and that encourages your viewer to find out what the Internet’s going crazy about right and so that’s the way to do it you really want to make it seem like it’s a viral video on Facebook and not necessarily an ad so you don’t want to use too much sales pressure in the video you kind of just want to highlight the benefits and be casual about it and then invite the videos that invite the viewers at the end of the video to shop on your website so what I usually do to write my script is I just pull up notepad and I just write short sentences based on what I think would be good so you can also look at competitors ads to see what’s working for them and model your script off of theirs many short clips you’re going to be putting together in your final ad so in this case I guess I had 10 or from 9 so I had 9 different clips so then I wrote 9 different sentences that I would put on each clip alright so now that you’ve got video content and the video script figure it out the next step is to actually make the video ad and this is the fun part so unless you’re an experienced video editor what I recommend doing is using any moto so any moto is a social media video making software so it makes it really easy to make social media type videos so before heading on any moto what you want to do is you want to take that video content that you got made in step 1 and split it into short 4 to 6 second clips so give or take a little bit but usually 4 seconds is what you want to be at for each clip you want the videos to be fast paced and what you can do to keep it within those 4 seconds you can just fast forward the video so what I like to do is I use inch shot on my phone and I speed up the videos and I just basically edit a bunch of 4 second clips from that original piece of video that I got and then I upload that to my Google Drive and then I go back to any moto and use that for my editing so this is what any modal looks like and I’ve actually imported all the clips into the project and I’ve already made the video this is the video that I showed you guys at the start and now I’m gonna be going into how I made this so showing you sigh tanimoto and how it was made and it’s really simple so this is what it looks like when you create a project on any moto and first thing you want to do is you want to go to the style tab and change the style so the style that I like to use is the clean cut style they have a few different ones but I just like using clean cut and then you can go to the design tab and this is where you can kind of setup the whole design so the fonts the colors and everything so what I usually do I just use black backgrounds for my captions and for the font I just use work sounds and this is just the design that I like but you can play around with this and find a design that suits you and your brand so once you’ve finished configuring all the different style options the storyboard here is where you actually put together your Clips and make your video so just to show you how easy it really is I’m gonna add the last clip here that says tag a friend who needs this so all you want to do is you just want to click add a block video and then it’s gonna put a block here but what I prefer to do is I actually just duplicate an existing block that I have so for example this one and then all you have to do is drag and drop the content that you would want here so say I want this this video here drag and drop it here just like that and then you can edit the text so tag a friend who needs this and then there’s more settings in this so you can actually click Edit and it’ll take you into the editor for that clip and then you can change the size of the text whatever you want and you can actually change the location of the text so if you want to write like upper left corner you can have it right there you can so any modo makes it really really easy to make these social type videos and put them together in just a few minutes one thing that I like to do with all my video ads is I have a leading 3 second clip that I put at the start without any caption and I kind of try to match it with the music so the music slowly starts off and then as soon as it switches to the captions that’s one kind of the beat starts dropping and I think this gives a really nice feel to your video but most importantly having this leading three seconds here allows you to test the first three seconds of your clip super easily so say I make this ad and I start running it on Facebook and it’s doing okay but I think it could do be doing better you could test a bunch of variations super easy but just like saying what if I put this clip at the start right and then you have this clip and you can just go here edit you can trim it to three seconds so like whatever three things you would want and then have that as your leading three seconds for the video so I think you guys get the point it makes it super easy to test different variations if your ad and yeah the software overall is great for making video ads if you go to the design tab on any moto you’ll see that there’s an option to upload a watermark to your video and what this will do is it’ll just put a watermark in the upper right hand corner and I don’t usually do this because I find that watermark slightly useless people can just cover it up super easily with their own logo and what I like doing is actually just using in shot to put a 30% opacity watermark on the center of my video right in the center so that people can’t just edit it out easily the only way you can get rid of a watermark like that is blurring it out and it just doesn’t look really that good so that’s my favorite way to watermark my videos I just do it after exporting this video I’ll just download it to my phone and add the watermark with in shot alright so that is pretty much it for this video I know I didn’t cover any moto2 in depth but I’ll see if you just give it a shot you’ll see how easy it is and I really don’t think you’ll need my help so I have a few other tips before I in this video number one is to test different leading clips for your ads so I know I already mentioned this in the video but it’s really important it’s kind of like clickbait but for videos since videos autoplay when you’re scrolling down your newsfeed the first few seconds that the viewer sees is gonna make the difference whether or not they’re gonna watch the rest of the video right so you really want to lure them into the rest of your video with those few those first few seconds whether that be using like a clip that shows what problem your product solves or whatever it may be but you really just want to test those first few seconds until you find something that works well because it makes a world of difference number two is to design custom thumbnails for your ads as well this isn’t as important as the first few seconds because like I said most videos autoplay but if it doesn’t autoplay having a good thumbnail is gonna be the difference on whether or not the viewer watches your video lastly is if you cannot afford to get custom content made for you like I explained at the start of this video with Fiverr and influencers you can still use this method using clips that you find on YouTube and it’ll still make a big difference because even though you’re using the same content you’re putting it in a different way and you come making it your own using Animoto and it’ll make your content overall better since it’s different than others so even if you can’t get the content made for you you can still use this strategy just search on youtube search wherever you can’t define content and just try to stay away from copyright issues so I hope that you guys learned something you with this video and that it’ll help you make better video ads in the future if you enjoyed the Today I’m going to show you exactly why
you need real estate in your portfolio, how
you can use it to create a stress-free strategy
with returns that beat a simple stock, bond
We’ll talk about some of the challenges
in property investing and how I get most of
my real estate exposure with dividends over
5% and without having to lift a finger.

So a question I get a lot is real estate versus
stocks, which is the best investment and I’ve
really got two answers.
First, the short answer is real estate, hands
Real estate returns beat stocks in almost
every time period.
In fact, over the 30-years through 2017, real
estate provided an 1,800% return according
to the NAREIT all equity REIT more than double
the total return of 731% on the S&P 500.
Not only are the returns higher but real estate
offers better protection against inflation.
You know, over that 30 years, the value of
the dollar has been cut in half according
to the BLS Consumer Price Index.
Something you bought for $1 in 1987 now costs
$2.16 – including the price of real estate.
But the other answer is why not have both,
stocks and real estate?
Combining real estate in a portfolio of stocks
means you make money whether the stock market
rises or not.
In the mid-80s when the S&L crisis hit real
estate, stock prices did well.
When the tech bust destroyed stocks in 2000,
real estate was booming.
This is going to mean that your wealth is
going to grow steadily, not crashing with
the market and you’re not going to freak
out when it does.
But that huge advantage in owning real estate
runs face first into reality for a lot of
Buying and managing property just isn’t
possible for a lot of people.
Sure, you might be able to manage one or two
rentals but own any more and it becomes a
full-time job on top of your full-time job.
It costs tens of thousands just for a down
payment on one property.
That means, for a lot of investors, they’d
have to sink their entire nest egg into real
estate and anyone that lived through the housing
bust can tell you that’s not a good idea.
But there is one type of real estate investment
that gives you those double-digit returns,
all the exposure you need, without the headaches
and problems.
You can start with less than $100 and get
an investment in multiple properties all across
the country and with professional management.
We’re talking about a real estate investment
trust or REIT.
A REIT is an investment company that owns
real estate and pays out the cash flow to
The company is managed by real estate professionals
with all the staff and structure you’d expect
from a major corporation.
REITs get a special tax break from the government.
If they pay out most of their earnings to
investors, they pay no corporate income tax.
That means huge dividends for investors and
less taxes lost to Uncle Sam.
Now one of the best parts is that listed REITs
trade just like stocks on any investing platform.
You can go into your online account or to
any broker and buy a share of a company for
less than $100 – in fact, of the almost 200
REITs I follow, prices range from less than
a dollar a share to about $170 per share with
dividends as high as 13% a year.
It used to be that the only REITs available
to regular investors were those traded on
the exchanges, while other funds were only
available to the wealthy.
Just over the last few years though we’ve
seen the rise of online REITs and platforms
like stREITwise that have opened the opportunity
up to everyone.
We’re going to be talking more about these
in a bit and over the next two videos.
I’ve been investing in REITs for over a
decade and just got into online REITs myself.
For example, one of the exchange traded REITs
I own is Welltower, an owner of properties
in the healthcare sector that pays a 5.5%
Here’s another one Extra Space Storage which
manages storage facilities.
The dividend here is only 3.7%, which is still
twice the cash return versus the rest of the
market, and the shares have jumped 34% from
where I bought them just a couple of years
One of the problems I’ve always had with
REITs though is that these tend to be very
large companies that need to reinvest in dozens
of new properties a year.
That kind of scale can actually work to their
disadvantage, one because of the costs of
running such a large company, but also because
management doesn’t have as much discretion
in picking good deals.
They have to reinvest cash for growth.
Another problem for listed REITs is that the
stock price tends to be more like a stock
rather than that smoother appreciation from
real estate.
For example, when the stock market lost 50%
in 2008, REITs lost more than 60% of their

too but actual property prices declined also
but it was more like 30% – so you have more
risk in REITs.
For these two reasons, I’m excited about
a new type of real estate investment called
the online REIT.
These are a lot like REITs except online REITs
are smaller portfolios of properties with
non-traded shares and most of the time, higher
dividend yields.
Since online REITs are smaller than exchange
traded REITs, management can pick and choose
the properties in which to invest and there
isn’t as much regulatory or operational
expenses to be covered.
A lot of times that’s going to mean better
flexibility to go after only the best properties
and a higher cash return for investors.
For example, the 1st stREIT Office REIT managed
by stREITwise invests in high-quality office
properties and as of the date of this video,
has paid a 10% annualized dividend.
The fund is managed by seasoned real estate
professionals that have acquired or managed
over $5.4 billion in property and across all
property types.
I’ll leave a link to this online REIT in
the video description below with more information.
Because online REITs are longer-term investments,
the share price of the investment or its net
asset value, isn’t usually as volatile as
stocks or listed REITs.
Against this, there is one disadvantage in
that some online REITs are still only available
to accredited investors, people with over
a million net worth.
The stREITwise online REIT is open to all
investors but it’s so far the exception
rather than the rule.
Now I still own some listed REITs in my portfolio
but I’m diversifying into online REITs as
This three-pronged strategy of owning some
properties but diversifying with REITs and
online REITs gives me the best of all three.
I get that pride of ownership from direct
investing in properties but also the diversification
and professional management of REITs and high
cash return from online REITs.

showing to you by the way it’s worthless okay because I think it says they don’t here somewhere this is a copy this is fake money this is not real money this on the other hand by the way it’s on the worth something but this money can only bring me peace of mind right now I got the money in my bag in case something happens this money does not become valuable though until I pull it out of the bag oh here’s some 50 to 20 yeah yeah that’s right so said this money is only valuable win okay first lesson I want to share with you money only becomes valuable when it is used money is not valuable in the bank money is not valuable sitting waiting for your retirement it might give you some peace of mind some some idea that your your your you’re gonna be fined and you’re gonna be protected you know when you stop working and that you’re gonna build a retire and live happily ever after because you have money sitting on a 401 K or a time and account or IRA or you got a bunch of money sitting in savings council but the truth is you’re you you can’t produce money when it’s it’s in the bank money is only valuable only valuable when it’s used okay so if I want these sunglasses right sunglasses protect my eyes put them on make me look cool okay I had to trade I had to trade five hundred I think it was $70 ridiculous I mean just completely stupid because you know I’m a scratch him or I’m gonna lose them or they’re gonna end up on my head like this because that’s what sunglasses all do but I traded basically five hundred and seventy dollars of someone else’s money second lesson all money is someone else’s money I’m writing these notes down because I don’t want to forget right okay because in life when you observe life you will learn for life okay when I observe when I learned then I want to like duplicate it replicate okay money is only valuable when it’s used and all money all money is someone else’s money it’s not your money right and this is a problem people have cuz they’re like I get a little bit of money and then I want to this watch they never take advice from a millionaire you a millionaire gets a little bit of money and the first thing they won’t do is protect your money God makes 100 grand first time in his life he wants to protect his hunter he makes 5,000 first time he wants to protect it he goes into protection rather than going out and getting more money this is why people become complacent this is why so many people go out today and just ask people hey you making enough money i’m darren tu 60 to 70 percent of the people you ask ask ten people six to seven never gonna say no I’m good they can barely make ends meet no I’m good man you want to make more money you know money’s not everything money won’t make me happy you know I’m fine they’re making sense they’re complacent with what they have why cuz they’re trying to protect it rather than they get go get more of it and by the way they think that the money that they now have is theirs okay back to the example I want my sunglasses okay I got some money money sitting around I see these shades I’m like dude I want those shades now these shades can never make me money but they can give me that cool look ready hey brother we come in if you like the shades I think you’re pretty sexy by the way I did not buy these shades because I would never spend five hundred seventy dollars somebody bought those shades for me but just for the example let’s say that I traded five hundred and seventy dollars for these Versace zoar whatever they are that money gets used I get my sunglasses I look cool now the question is was it worth it was it worth the money okay obviously whoever bought me these shades would rather have given me a gift of these shades than the $570 your normal reaction my reaction will be this there’s no way those the sunglasses are worth five hundred seventy dollars but I want you to think about it in a different way the person that bought me these sunglasses who I have a complete total image of right now good dude generous guy smart guy spent five hundred seventy dollars of someone else’s money put the money to use rule number one put money to use gave me the shades a gift to me wrote it off as a tax deduction and built his business because I know him now he knows me and he paid for a connection okay money is only valuable when it’s used number two money is never yours money all money that you will have today all money that you have in the bank all money you will have in the future is someone else’s money it’s it’s in their hands and it wait so third rule I want to give you this once you get surplus money once you get surplus money the most important rule and money is earn it keep it three the third rule is how do I get money to multiply how do I get money to multiplies so then I have money coming in from different sources all right follow me around again you need different sources okay I’ll give you one example right now we’re doing our textbook conference okay you have to have sources coming in from different places there’s got to be money coming in from different places this is called multiple flows of income one example one project okay you would never assign one seat what you want is this okay I want a bunch of different seats I want ambassador seats at ninety five bucks hero seats I’ve given away literally giving these away to firemen why would I why would I give two and a half million dollars where the seats away if money’s so valuable this money is only as valuable as we assign value to it okay super lesson money is only as valuable as the people that abbit assigned value to it I thought it was more valuable for me to have 5,000 people firemen policemen Marines Army Navy nurse nurses first responders I thought it more valuable for me to give those seats away and get sponsors to support me and given those seats away and help people that literally work their asses off every day and are underpaid constantly I mean can you imagine being a fireman paid 70 grand a year to walk into a building and maybe lose your life but that’s what they do how about the policemen nobody likes him nobody respects him he’s paid 60 70 thousand dollars a year to protect people that don’t like him okay so what I did was I gave away a bunch of these seats I have a real estate section here these seats are like 2,500 bucks VIPs are 5000 premiers are 10,000 in diamonds or 15 grand why would somebody give me $15,000 up there money no no somebody else’s money why because they want to use money to get access to me and Steve Harvey right see they’re thinking right you understand so which one is the third lesson here you need multiple flows of the income you need your your money invested once you earn money get multiple flows of income going Starbucks has how many different copies there they don’t just have coffee they got frappuccinos got you tea they got cappuccinos they got Express those coming this way they got macchiatos thank you okay let’s see what am I trying to show you right here multiple flows of income I’ll give you another example I’ve written a number of books okay wrote a or someone else’s money with them so they work on my projects I give them money I get into a place to work I give me my mission I give them objective and I trade money for that this is the thing so many of us don’t know okay buy time by time it’s two more guys outside it’s pie time how do you buy time this is what all the super wealthy people do super wealthy people all buy time I’ve been studying wealthy people since I was probably 20 20 19 or 20 years old so sorry one two three four five six more okay I got a refrigerator back here icebox I got a kitchen okay now I have to spend money for this I bought this building I gave 16 million dollars for this building so my people 16 million dollars stroked the checking to get the bank out so I could have this place refrigerator money maybe a bank was here and so rather than by the way I was renting from the bank the bank was my tenant and I bought the building and the paint became I’m sorry I was the tenants mate I was the look the person that never invests will spend their entire life their entire life working for income okay once you get your money you got invested so so things that I buy today when I accumulate enough money first thing I do is I invest all of it in my business I showed you I bought a business there I rented this place this place to go coffee millions Marlin Stadium ten million dollars I’m trading ten million dollars russell brunson said how even how do you do that dude I said dude I’m trading ten million dollars in somebody else’s money to have to have to have this park right here and then you show it to you to rent a park to rent Marlins stadium for three days so I can bring people together and spend time with clients investors so is that a good exchange does money have any value really oh yeah what’s what’s it worth 10 million dollars to run your own event or 10 million dollars cash what would you rather have okay would you rather 50 million dollars cash or 50 million dollars 10 million dollars or run a three-day event would you rather 55 million dollars or your own jet you got to make a decision what if you had all the money you wanted but you didn’t couldn’t couldn’t couldn’t get a passport how much money would you pay for a passport if you wanted to get out of the country you live in anything okay you got people coming from South America right now trying to get in America they’ll do anything for this passport anything money’s not about as valuable as you think it is but you need it okay so number one less remember money’s only valuable when you use it to all money is someone else’s money I bought this jet not this model they gave me the model okay I bought the jet with someone else’s money when you get this impregnated into your head into your cranium your life is going to change okay but you got to quit wasting money on garbage the third thing is this when you start investing investing assets that are real so so so what the last thing I want to tell you you should money as an investment if it’s not gonna make you more money like other than food water housing you need a place to keep you warm all other money all other money except for basic living all other money should be one tax-deductible into it should make you more money or at least have the potential to make you more money listen only spend money my own money I would never buy them some classes but I would buy a studio see I would use the money for studio I wasn’t taught this I spent five years in college they didn’t teach me in college what to spend my money on I’d spend it on ten or twelve what are those called back there on streets okay I’d spin her a smart board so I could educate people I’ve spent it spending on a studio I would trade somebody else’s money that’s now my
